A Pittsfield resident was killed in a two-car crash on Friday night in Stockbridge according to Stockbridge Police Chief, Darrell Fennelly. The victim's name is being withheld at this time because his family lives in Ghana and is unable to be located.

The crash took place on Route 7 in Stockbridge.

According to berkshireeagle.com, just after 11 p.m. on Friday, Michelle S. Curletti of West Stockbridge, was traveling southbound in a 2016 BMW when it crossed into the northbound lane hitting a 2015 Toyota Rav 4 driven by Fidelis N. Morkeh, of Pittsfield.

Curletti was the sole occupant in the BMW. The Rav 4 was occupied by Morkeh and 3 passengers. One of the passengers was pronounced dead at Berkshire Medical Center.

Toxicology results are awaited for Curletti, the BMW driver and only occupant of the vehicle. Based on the preliminary and ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident, charges might be pending. -Stockbridge Chief Fennelly

Rescue crews from Stockbridge, Lee, and Lenox assisted in the crash, and the highway was temporarily shut down.
