Every Wednesday at 8:30 Slater and I are joined by John Perreault, Executive Director of the Berkshire Humane Society to discuss all the happenings at their Barker Road facility, plus talk about their Pet of the Week.

This week's Pet of the Week is Kiara, a BIG, fluffy black and tan spayed female dog. Kiara is 7 years old and is a love. She came to Berkshire Humane because her owner went to a nursing home.  She is accustomed to a quiet home and that’s the type of home staff is hoping to place her in, one with no small children or energetic dogs as she is afraid of them. Kiara is respectful of cats and would get along with respectful dogs. With her double coat, she needs regular grooming and with her size, she needs a house (not an apartment) with a fenced yard. Kiara walks nicely on a leash, but slowly.  Berkshire Humane is hoping someone will adopt this gentle giantess soon.

The Berkshire Humane is now open to the public, adhering to all state guidelines.

To learn more about Kiara and all the other pets looking for their forever home, contact at the Berkshire Humane Society at 214 Barker Road in Pittsfield, or give the shelter a call at (413) 447-7878.
