Every Wednesday at 8:30 we're joined by John Perreault, Executive Director of the Berkshire Humane Society to discuss all the happenings at their Barker Road facility, plus talk about their Pet of the Week.

This week's Pet of the Week is Starfish, one of five puppies left from the transport of 31 puppies that arrived at the Pittsfield Airport from Mobile, Alabama last week. Starfish is a three month old mixed breed who probably has some pit bull in him. He is a cute tan dog with a dark muzzle and white underbelly. Starfish needs a home without other dogs, cats or small children because he guarded food from his littermates. He does not guard food from humans, but would do best in a home with people willing to take time to train him.  He will be approximately pounds 50 when he is full grown. Due to BHS' October Adoption Extravaganza, his adoption fee is discounted by $50.

For the month of October Berkshire Humane is offering $50 off the adoption fee of any animal as part of an ASPCA Subaru Loves Pets grant.
