Every Wednesday at 8:30 Slater and I are joined by John Perreault, Executive Director of the Berkshire Humane Society to discuss all the happenings at their Barker Road facility, plus talk about their Pet of the Week.

This week's Pet of the Week is Sunny, a senior male cat, probably at least 10 years old. “Sunny” is a somewhat ironic name for him, at least for his color, because he is an all-black cat – and large, but shelter employees say his sweet personality outsides his dark exterior. Sunny is a sweet boy and loves to be held if you're strong enough. The large feline is slightly overweight and could afford to lose a few pounds.

Shelter volunteers and employees don’t know much about him, as he was brought in via the SafePet Program and his owner never returned to claim him. Sunny is a senior pet, and because November is Adopt a Senior Pet Month his adoption fee is reduced by 50 percent.
