On Monday around 7:00 p.m., Pittsfield Police Officers were dispatched to the Ulta Beauty store at 555 Hubbard Avenue for a reported shoplifting in progress. This location had been the target of organized theft multiple times in recent weeks.

Immediately upon the officers’ arrival at the scene, Sgt. Matthew Killeen stopped a motor vehicle in front of 875 Dalton Ave which matched the description given by the reporting party.

As a result of the investigation & motor vehicle stop, Rayquan Carter, age 22, of Albany, NY and Jonneasia Welcome, age 19, of Menands, NY were subsequently arrested. Two juveniles were also arrested with the pair for their involvement in the thefts. Over $5000 worth of merchandise from Ulta was recovered from the motor vehicle.

Ms. Welcome & the two juveniles were each charged with:

-Organized Retail Crime

-Larceny Over $1200

Mr. Carter, who was also charged with Organized Retail Crime, was additionally charged with:

-Receiving Stolen Property Over $1200

-Possession of open container of Marijuana in a Motor Vehicle.
