Pittsfield Police Say Goodbye to Beloved K-9 Officer (VIDEO)

The Pittsfield Police announced this morning that they have lost beloved K-9 Officer Niko.

According to their Facebook post, Niko was recently diagnosed with a medical condition related to his spine that was incurable. As a result, Sergeant Parise had to make the toughest decision any K-9 handler can be forced to make.

Yesterday, Sergeant Parise, flanked by our K-9 Unit handlers, along with several other K-9 agencies, brought Niko home for the final time. Niko served with pride and distinction for PPD and with Sergeant Parise from 2015 until the present.
