The City of Pittsfield has a heads-up for drivers and pedestrians this week as several construction projects move forward across the city.

On West Street, crews will be doing temporary line painting on Sunday, April 27, with short-term lane closures expected while paint is applied and dries. From Monday, April 28 through Thursday, May 1, workers will be adjusting structures to their final pavement elevation, drivers should expect temporary raised structures during that work.

On Fenn Street, Eversource continues underground utility work between North Street and Allen Street. The westbound lane in that stretch remains closed and is expected to stay that way for several more weeks.

Catch basin cleaning is scheduled this week on Leroi Drive, Roselyn Drive, Loumar Drive, Woodleigh Road near Route 20, Springside Avenue, Tyler Street, Grove Street, Brown Street, and Woodlawn Avenue.

On the sidewalk front, panel replacements are underway on Marlboro Drive between 55 and 65 Marlboro Drive. On East Street, crews are reconstructing pedestrian ramps and setting up for new pedestrian beacons. Crosswalks near Berkshire Superior Court, St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, and Price Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church will be closed to foot traffic from Sunday, April 27 through Tuesday, April 29.

Finally, the pedestrian ramp near Berkshire Probate and Family Court and the Berkshire Middle Registry of Deeds at 44 Bank Row will be closed to pedestrians from April 27 through May 1 while crews replace the ramp and damaged brick pavers.

The city asks drivers and pedestrians to use caution, plan ahead, and use alternate routes where possible.
