The Pittsfield Suns are celebrating 10 years in Pittsfield but are met with some challenges this year in terms of Wahconah Park's grandstand issue.

The season is an absolute go, though! On Wednesday, the team made an announcement regarding their new coach!

Suns fans! As seen on Pittsfield Community Television, the new head coach of the Pittsfield Suns is Kevin Donati.

Donati has grown up with the game of baseball. Born and raised in Pittsfield, Kevin graduated from Pittsfield High School where he lettered all 4 years, serving as captain his senior year. The former middle infielder garnered 3 All-Berkshire County honors, 2 All-Western Mass honors, 2-time Berkshire North MVP, and 2 All-Massachusetts State honors.
He was the 3rd ranked shortstop in the state of Massachusetts in his graduating class of 2015. He played D1 collegiate ball for 4 years for the Great Danes at the University of Albany. During the summers, he played for the Suns, where he is the all-time leading hitter and also served as a bench coach in 2018.
During is post-college carrer, he became the Lead Hitting Instructor at Prime Performance Athlete Training, a premier training facility located in Gaithersburg, Maryland in 2019. Donati is also an OnBaseUniversity Hitting Level 1 certified hitting instructor, and an associate scout for the San Diego Padres.
He then came home and found Rip City Academy, centered towards further developing skill, talent, strength, and community.
Suns fans, we are proud to have Kevin return to the Wahconah Park this year. We will also be glad to have you all return this year! The home opener will be May 27th against the Norwich Sea Unicorns.
