The City of Pittsfield's Annual Tree Lighting in Park Square was very well attended on Friday evening. The annual tradition brings out local residents of all ages for a festive night of beautiful lights, warm tidings, and yuletide cheer.

There was plenty of good cheer as the Taconic High School chorus led the crowd in an array of Christmas carols, and Patrick's Pub was on hand providing hot chocolate for those in attendance.

And the night would have not been complete without a visit from Santa Claus, who arrived with Mrs. Claus on the back of a city firetruck complete with an escort of city police cruisers.

The attending crowd also helped to support the Pittsfield's Christian Center Food Pantry with donations of nonperishable food items.
