Are you still having trouble getting an appointment for a COVID-19 vaccine? Well starting tomorrow the Pittsfield Walmart will be another option for Massachusetts residents.

We're just nine days away from Phase 3 of the vaccine roll out, at which point the general public will be eligible to receive their shot(s). While Berkshire County has been a leader in the state in vaccines, many have had frustrations scheduling their appointments. Some folks in the next group are concerned the increased demand for vaccines will make getting their turn even harder.

Walmart will offer COVID-19 vaccines at 43 location across the Commonwealth, including their Pittsfield location. As of this morning, eligible residents can schedule a vaccine appointment via the Walmart Pharmacies online scheduling site. The availability of appointments depends on how long the company's allocation lasts.

While some Walmart locations will receive shipments of Moderna’s two-dose vaccine, others are expected to offer the single-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine, according to WBZ CBS Boston.

Walmart has already been administering the vaccine at more than 3,800 locations in 48 other states and jurisdictions since April 2. The retail chain says more than 80% of the shots administered at Walmart pharmacies and 60+ dedicated community events were in what the federal Health Resources and Services Administration designates the most medically underserved areas in the United States.
