Massachusetts is a spectacular place to live. Residents and visitors alike enjoy vast and various landscapes from sandy Cape Cod beaches, to the iconic Boston skyline, and the hidden beauty of the Berkshire mountains. From historic landmarks, legendary sports teams, and an overall great quality of life, folks love living in the Bay State.

A lesser-known fact about Massachusetts is that it's a foodie's dream. From unique and exclusive Michelin-starred dining experiences to mom-and-pop roast beef shops, fresh seafood, and farm-to-table eateries, there is something for everyone's palate and budget in Massachusetts.

While there are plenty of award-winning restaurants in Massachusetts, there are some not-so-great ones as well. Unfortunately, we're not just talking about food people don't care for, some of the less-than-stellar eateries in Massachusetts have run into issues with the Board of Health.

Boston Back Bay Dunkin' Closed Due to Rat Infestation

A Dunkin' store located in the Back Bay MTBA station has been temporarily shut down due to sanitation violations.

The closure stemmed from a now viral video filmed by a customer who spotted rats in the popular coffee chain. The video, which made the rounds on social media, shows a rat crawling all over a tray of donuts.

Shortly afterwards, an inspection was conducted, which found multiple rat droppings in addition to a live cockroach, so the location was shut down.

In a statement to Boston 25 News, a representative from Dunkin' said the following:

“To clarify, the bakery rack shown in the video was not inside the Dunkin’ location but left outside the security gate within the MBTA station. While isolated, this incident did not meet with our stringent food safety standards. As a result, the franchised location is temporarily closed and working with the health department to ensure all standards are met before reopening.”
