When does Spring arrive?

Spring arrives in the Northern Hemisphere on March 20, 2026, at approximately 10:46 a.m. EDT. This astronomical event marks when the sun crosses the celestial equator, making day and night nearly equal in length and signaling the official start of the season.

Just before that, most of the US, including Boston, Massachusetts, observes the "spring forward" clock change for Daylight Saving Time. On Sunday, March 8, 2026, at 2 a.m., clocks advance one hour to 3 a.m., extending evening daylight and shifting mornings darker. This adjustment, starting on the second Sunday in March, helps maximize natural light as days lengthen toward summer. Yaay!
