When I first joined Live 95.9 full-time in the winter of 2011, one of my earliest memories was working the "Winter Carnival" at Onota Lake. Unfortunately, the annual event dating back to 1945, never again took place, until now.

According to iberkshires.com, Springside Park will host a newer version of the once popular outdoor family winter event on Saturday, February 17 from noon to 4.

We want to bring the concept of families and kids being outdoors, our big thing is to just get families together at the park -Lisa Tully

Children's activities from ice skating to snow shoeing to sledding will be enjoyed, as the Pittsfield Fire Dept. will be creating an ice skating rink. Even wiffle ball is a possibility!

This event is absolutely free and will be put on by Springside Conservancy volunteers. Now that we've already powered through our arctic blast for the winter, grab the kids and have some fun at Springside Park on Feb. 17 from noon to 4PM!
