The 10th running of the MountainOne Steel Rail Races will take place on Sunday, May 22nd, 2022.

Three different running events will be held on The Ashuwillticook Rail Trail beginning at 8:30 am in Pittsfield with the full Boston Qualified marathon course. The marathon course will run the trail's full length to Adams and return to Pittsfield to cover the 26.2 miles.  The Half Marathon will begin in Adams at 9:30 am, with the largest of the field leaving and running to Pittsfield for the 13.1 distance.  Lastly, the 8K out and back course in Pittsfield will start at 10 am.

Post-race events will be held at John’s Ace Hardware at 850 Crane Ave adjacent to the Ashuwillticook Rail Trail.

Residents are advised to expect traffic delays; specifically, on Rt 8 at the crossing in Cheshire and again in Adams at Park St and Rt 8.  Between the hours of 9:30 am-12:30 pm. The Ashuwillticook trail is not closed to the public, however, race directors Kent and Shiobbean Lemme, owners of Berkshire Running Center, advise residents to be aware of the highly congested course and ask for support for the safety of the participants.  The course support will be out from 8:30 am- 2:30 pm.

The MountainOne Steel Rail Races are produced and directed by Berkshire Running Center with the sponsorship of The City of Pittsfield Department of Parks and Recreation.  The corporate sponsor is MountainOne Financial. Proceeds from the event are allocated to the DCR for the maintenance and upkeep of the trail.

MountainOne is thrilled to be back for a second year as the Corporate sponsor of Berkshire Running Center and the MountainOne Steel Rail Races. It is a wonderful opportunity to host this year’s races on the newly extended Ashuwillticook Rail Trail in Pittsfield. I also want to recognize Kent and Shiobbean Lemme and their team at BRC as the powerhouse bringing health and wellness opportunities to our community.
