Brand New Toddler Childcare Program Opens in the Berkshires
Berkshire County families are struggling to find childcare availability. Whether it's a shortage of programs, long waitlists, or rising costs, many families are feeling the extra strain of not being able to get their youngsters into a program. It's particularly difficult for families where both parents work. It's a lot of juggling and wrangling to get relatives involved in watching children who aren't yet school-aged.
There is some hope, though, and a bit of good news. Recognizing the shortage of child care programs that are available to families in Berkshire County, Berkshire South Regional Community Center has opened a brand new toddler childcare program at its Crissey Road location in Great Barrington. The program serves children ages 15 to 33 months from families in the southern Berkshire area.
After speaking with numerous staff members from Berkshire South over the years, I'm not surprised that the center opened this program. Berkshire South has always been known as a facility that not only creates new and innovative programs, but the programs they offer are of great service to the community, and the toddler childcare program exemplifies another need that Berkshire South is determined to fill.
Executive Director of Berkshire South, Jenise Lucy, stated the following in a press release regarding opening the toddler childcare program:
We knew we needed to respond to the critical need for early childhood care in southern Berkshire County. It's one more way we can support families. strengthen connections, and build a healthier, more resilient community.
There are also perks for families who enroll in the toddler childcare program, including Berkshire South membership benefits and discounts on many of the center's programs for youth and family. You can get more information on the program and complete an inquiry form by going here.
