Summers in Massachusetts are known for visiting beaches on the Cape, attending Red Sox games, enjoying concerts, car shows, antiquing, and of course, ice cream. Nobody can argue that summer and ice cream go hand in hand. Whether it's a mom-and-pop ice cream store that's only open during the summer months or a bigger chain like Friendly's or Dairy Queen, there are plenty of ice cream options to try this summer.

So what was Allrecipes ' #1 pick? They chose one of my favorites, and that's Häagen-Dazs. They chose Häagen-Dazs because of the big chocolate bold flavor that the brand delivers, it's an absolute must-eat when it comes to chocolate ice cream.

The nice thing (which was part of the purpose of the study) is that you can find Häagen-Dazs at many grocery stores throughout Massachusetts, including Boston, Worcester, Springfield, Berkshire County, and many other places throughout the Bay State.

You can check out which other brands were on the list that fell short of the top position by going here.
