Warning for Trader Joe’s Shoppers: Four More Frozen Items Added to Recall
If you're a regular Trader Joe's shopper, and let's be honest, in Massachusetts that's a lot of us, it's time to take a look in your freezer.
Trader Joe's has expanded a recall on several frozen food products over concerns they may contain glass. Yes, glass.
The recall, originally announced on February 19th, was triggered after the company received four consumer complaints about glass found in their frozen chicken fried rice.
The USDA's Food Safety Inspection Service classified it as a Class I recall, the most serious category, meaning there's a reasonable probability the product could cause serious injury.
This week, Trader Joe's expanded that recall to include four products:
Chicken Fried Rice with best by dates between March 4, 2026 and February 10, 2027
Vegetable Fried Rice with best by dates between February 28, 2026 and November 19, 2026
Japanese Style Fried Rice with best by dates between February 28, 2026 and November 14, 2026
Chicken Shu Mai with best by dates between March 13, 2026 and October 23, 2026
All of these products were shipped to Trader Joe's retail locations nationwide, which includes all Massachusetts locations. -yahoo.com
No injuries have been confirmed so far, but officials want these products out of your freezer immediately. Don't eat them. Throw them out or return them to your nearest Trader Joe's for a refund.
