From the Pittsfield Police Department

Crash #1 

On July 2, 2020 at approximately 3:02 p.m. hours, the Pittsfield Police Dept., Pittsfield Fire Dept. along with Action and County Ambulance responded to the area of 989 Williams St for a report of a three car motor vehicle crash with multiple injuries.

A 2015 Volkswagen Passat operated by Mr. Matthew Nadolny (31 years old) of Becket, MA was traveling west bound on Williams St in the 900 block when he collided with a 2018 Ford Escape operated by Mrs. Lina Simeone (80 years old) of Pittsfield. Mrs. Simeone was also traveling west bound on Williams St. in front of the Volkswagen. After striking the Ford Escape, the Volkswagen then entered into the east bound lane and collided head on with a 2001 Ford Taurus operated by Mr. Sean Mulholland (72 years old) of Becket MA and also occupied by his wife.

All occupants involved in this collision were transported to BMC for life threatening injuries. Mr. Nadolny succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at BMC.

The roadway was closed to traffic during the investigation from 3:00 p.m. hours until 6:30 p.m.

This incident is being investigated by Officer Brandon Gallagher of the Pittsfield Police Dept. Traffic Unit. Anyone who may have witnessed this incident or has information regarding this crash is asked to contact Officer Gallagher at 413-448-9700 ext 549.

Crash #2

On July 2, 2020 at approximately 7:26 p.m., the Pittsfield Police Dept., Pittsfield Fire Dept. along with County Ambulance responded to the area of 1619 East St for a report of two motorcycles having crashed and both operators with serious injuries.

Two motorcycles were traveling west bound in the 1600 block of East St when both vehicles crossed the double yellow line, entering into the east bound lane. Both vehicles then collided with the south side curb and guardrail ejecting the operators. Both operators suffered serious injuries and were transported to BMC and later Bay State for treatment. The names of the operators are not being released at this time until we are able to positively identify them. The make and model of the vehicles involved are also in question at this time due to having been unregistered.

The roadway was closed to traffic during the investigation from 7:30 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. due to the investigation as well as the roadway clean up as a result of fluids spilled onto the roadway
