Yesterday, Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at approximately 1:30 PM the Pittsfield Police Department received reports that a male party was in possession of a gun at a residence on Francis Avenue in Pittsfield.

Arriving Patrol Officers initiated an investigation and determined that 3 males had fled the residence and engaged in suspicious activity as they traveled through nearby properties on foot.

A short time later, two juvenile males that matched witness descriptions were detained by Patrol Officers. The subsequent search of the area netted the discovery of 2 firearms and illegal narcotics which were tied to the fleeing youths.

Both suspects were arrested and charged with: 1. Possession to Distribute Class B Drug 2. Receiving Stolen Property 3. Possession of Ammunition without FID card 4. Possession of Large Capacity Feeding Device 5. Carrying Firearm without License Members of the Pittsfield Police Detective Bureau, Crime Scene Unit, and K9 Unit assisted Patrol with the investigation.

The juveniles will be arraigned today through the Central Berkshire Juvenile Court.
