Yesterday around 5 p.m., a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian occurred in the 150 block of North Street, during the 3rd Thursday Event.

According to a press release from the Pittsfield Police Department, involved in the crash, was a 2015 Ford F-350 pickup operated by a juvenile, whose name is not being released. The truck is registered to Northeast Old Fashion Soda Company. The truck was rolling forward when it struck Neil Atlas, 75, of Lenox, MA

Members of the Pittsfield Police Department, assigned to the 3rd Thursday Street Festival were at the scene immediately and provided assistance to Mr. Atlas. Emergency units from the Pittsfield Fire Department and Action Ambulance Service were dispatched to the crash site. Mr. Atlas was extricated from under the truck by members of the Pittsfield Fire Department. Action Ambulance and Fire Department medics treated Mr. Atlas at the scene. Mr. Atlas was transported to Berkshire Medical Center. Mr. Atlas is being treated at Berkshire Medical Center for what appear at this point to be non-life threatening injuries.
