Commuters who travel South St. in Pittsfield near the Mobil Mart, may have noticed some ongoing road work including large puddles in the street. The following is from the Office of the Mayor.

Please be advised that repair work on the broken water valve on South Street in Pittsfield is expected to resume today, June 21, and continue tomorrow (Friday), June 22, due to the extensive nature of the repair.

A crew from the city’s Water Department will continue to monitor the leak today and throughout the night. Today, there will be minimal impact to service; however, tomorrow repairs are expected to interrupt water service for the South Street vicinity.

Residents in the area have been notified through the city’s Code Red system. Updates will be shared as available.
