The City of Pittsfield is passing along information from Eversource regarding upcoming helicopter activity in Pittsfield and Lanesborough.

The flight are scheduled to occur today through Thursday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.but activity is weather dependent.

The formal release from the electric company is as follows:

As part of the F-132 Line Structure Replacement Project, Eversource will be using a helicopter to install the new fiber optic grounding & communication wire at the top of the transmission structures in Lanesborough and Pittsfield.

The helicopter will fly over the following roads:

• Lanesborough: Berkshire Mall Road, South Main Street (Rte. 7), Miner Road, Goodell Road, and Bridge Street.
• Pittsfield: East Street, Merrill Road (Rte. 9), Dalton Avenue, Crane Avenue, and Partridge Road.

The helicopter will only land at one of the two designated helicopter landing zones: off of Bridge Street in Lanesborough and at 875 Crane Avenue in Pittsfield. The helicopter is a yellow and white Hughes MD500 with the tail number N938M.
