A Bronx, New York man was arraigned Wednesday morning in Central Berkshire District Court on a murder charge.

According to the Berkshire County District Attorney's Office, 40-year-old Lance Burke appeared before Judge Mark Pasquariello and entered a not guilty plea for one count of murder.

Burke was arrested in Bronx, NY on Nov. 20 on an outstanding warrant, charging him with murder for the Nov. 3 shooting death of 30-year-old David Green. The shooting occurred in Pittsfield near the Spring and Willow Street intersection at around 9 a.m. Green was pronounced dead four days later. Burke was also charged as a fugitive from justice in the arrest and agreed to be extradited back to the Berkshires to face the murder charge in court.

Judge Pasquariello ordered Burke be held at the Berkshire County House of Corrections without the right to bail. A pre-trial hearing is scheduled for Jan. 4, 2019.

 

Burke was arrested by members of the Pittsfield Police Department Detective Bureau and Anti-Crime Unit, assisted by members of the New York Police Department and agents from the FBI.
