Every Wednesday at 8:30 we're joined by John Perreault, Executive Director of the Berkshire Humane Society to discuss all the happenings at their Barker Road facility, plus talk about their Pet of the Week.

This week's Pet of the Week is a lovely lady named Hershey. A mix of boxer and pit bull, she’s sweet as a candy bar; as her name would imply.  An older gal at 8 years old, Hershey appreciates the calmer things in life. She’s content to take a nice walk and then curl up on the couch for extra snuggle time. Hershey can be a bit vocal, but that’s because she’s so happy to see everyone she meets. But that would mean no apartments for this girl; so as not to disturb the neighbors.
When she first arrived at Berkshire Humane, Hershey was severely underweight, but with a dietary plan put in place by the kennel staff, she is steadily gaining weight and making great progress. She does have some food allergies and has been eating a low-ingredient diet which she has been doing well with. Hershey could live with children aged 9 years and older, and calm, mellow dogs, but no cats or small animals, please.

If you’re looking for a super sweet, smart, and kind dog, who wants nothing more to be with people, Hershey may just be the dog to satisfy your sweet tooth.
Berkshire Humane Society would like to remind folks that adoption fees are still discounted through the end of the month by $100 and there are plenty of dogs available who could use a great home.
For more information on Hershey, please reach out to the Berkshire Humane Kennel staff at (413)-447-7878 ext. 126
