Come January, there will, officially, be a new Berkshire County District Attorney.

On Wednesday, Paul Caccaviello conceded the race for District Attorney to Andrea Harrington, sources confirm to Live 95.9. The news of the incumbent's concession was first reported by the Berkshire Eagle.

Tuesday's election in Berkshire County brought in a higher than normal voter turnout with all eyes on the race for DA. Harrington won the democratic nomination back in September over Caccaviello -- who went on the launch a write-in campaign -- and Judith Knight.

As preliminary numbers from Pittsfield, North Adams, Williamstown and Great Barrington came in, all signs pointed to Harrington taking the victory after jumping out to a nearly 6,000 vote lead. Harrington picked up just shy of 30,000 of the over 50,000 total reported votes cast throughout Berkshire County.

Harrington will become the first female District Attorney in Berkshire County when she is sworn in come January.
