Every Wednesday at 8:30 Slater and I are joined by John Perreault, Executive Director of the Berkshire Humane Society to discuss all the happenings at their Barker Road facility, plus talk about their Pet of the Week.

This week's Pet of the Week is Carolina, a one-year-old black and white tuxedo cat who was surrendered to Berkshire Humane because her previous family had some unrealistic expectations of pet ownership. Carolina was fostered while she raised a litter of kittens, now all the kittens have been adopted, but not their mama. Shelter staff are hoping this sweet and petite cat is next.

In addition to telling us about Carolina, John reminded listeners that the shelter is still operational but has made adjustments to keep the public and staff safe and healthy. The shelter is not currently open to the public, but animals can still be viewed in private showings by contacting Berkshire Humane Society directly. Despite COVID-19 fears, they have continued to successfully place animals this week, in addition, to keep lost or stray animals safe.

To learn more about Carolina and all the other pets looking for their forever home, contact at the Berkshire Humane Society at 214 Barker Road in Pittsfield, or give the shelter a call at (413) 447-7878.
