The Bruins were not able to lock up the top-seed in the Eastern Conference on Sunday, but fans were treated to the end of an era prior to their final regular season game matchup with the Florida Panthers.

After 42 years of getting B's fans fired up, Rene Rancourt took the Garden ice for the final time prior to the game. Rancourt gave another spectacular performance of the national anthem, as only he could, and when it was over, he paid homage to the building that he has called home for several decades.

Check out the performance below, which is capped off with a slew of Rancourt fist pumps.

The Bruins went on to lose the game 4-2, but still locked up the No.2 seed for the East as the playoffs kick off this week.

Rancourt will still be in the golden-vested tuxedo for the postseason as the B's will open up against the Toronto Maple Leafs at the TD Garden Thursday night at 7 p.m.
