Berkshire County will finish out the work week with mild temperatures near 40 degrees today, but this week looks to be a whole different ball game.

According to the National Weather Service, a shot of Arctic air will roll into New England tonight with a cold front bringing in the cold this evening with the possibility of some passing rain or snow showers.

Overnight, temperatures in The Berkshires will fall into the low teens and won't get much warmer as the day rolls on. Expect to see lows around 14 tonight and a high of 18 Saturday. Temperatures could make it into the low 20's on Sunday, however, we will likely see some long-awaited sun on the last day of the week, which is good news.

The bad news on the other hand is that winds are expected to be substantial on both days. Wind chills will be close to zero on Saturday, and in the single digits Sunday, making the 'feels like' temperature pretty brutal.

We really can't complain too much about the cold because according to the NWS, 11 out of 22 days this month have had a 40 or over high temperature.

On the other hand, what we can complain about is the clouds! Stats confirm what many have noticed this winter: Sunny skies have been hard to come by. 2/3 of the days this winter (since 12/1) have seen at least 80% cloud cover during the daylight hours. The cloudy pattern is not expected to lessen anytime soon.

Hoping for snow this weekend? Bad news; it's not happening. Good News; right now it just looks like some light snow or snow showers on Tuesday morning, which could account for a few fresh inches.
