Many questions still surround a Columbus Avenue shooting that occurred early Sunday morning, but the Berkshire County District Attorney's Office has confirmed one thing, the incident is now being investigated as a homicide.

Previously, the shooting and one victim were confirmed, but the condition of the victim was previously unreleased. The Berkshire District Attorney’s Office is still withholding the release of any additional information about the victim at this time to provide the family privacy.

A multi-agency investigation into the matter is ongoing with fully committed resources from the Pittsfield Police Department, the Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Berkshire District Attorney’s Office, and the Berkshire County Sheriff’s Office.

 Law enforcement has been aggressive in their efforts to investigate this crime and apprehend those responsible for the shooting.
