COVID-19 Forces Restaurant to Adapt with Parking Lot Patio Option
With Phase 2 beginning in the Baystate, restaurants are able to offer outdoor dining. In the whole COVID-19 pandemic, local businesses, especially restaurants are finding it hard to continue operating and must find ways to adapt. One of those local restaurants who has developed a creative way to keep folks coming in is the Hot Dog Ranch in Pittsfield! They have created the Parking Lot Patio.

Owner Craig Benoit is utilizing a 30 x 60 foot section of his parking lot on West Housatonic Street and turned it into a patio, complete with 4 high-top tables and 4 newly purchased picnic tables (from Sheds ‘n Stuff in Cheshire,) and even has a handicapped accessible table – all socially distanced (of course for diners.) Benoit said he can now seat up to 46 people – and even has a TV and Keno screens available on the “patio!” Serving 11a to 8p daily both lunch and dinner – full menu available by going here.
