Eversource Construction To Affect Pittsfield Traffic In The Coming Weeks

If Valentine Road in Pittsfield is in any way part of your regular commute, I'm quite sure you're noticing delays due to some road construction.

Eversource crews for the last few months have been making some improvements. Taconic High School is located on Valentine Road, so parents and students alike have all witnessed some ongoing delays.

While construction season is well under way in Pittsfield, City Hall just released some more information regarding a temporary traffic pattern affecting Fenn Street and more.

The following is from Pittsfield City Hall:

A temporary new traffic pattern will be in place on Fenn Street, between Allen Street and First Street, beginning on Monday, May 8 due to underground utility work conducted by Eversource.

This work is expected to continue over the next several weeks. While this work is underway, we encourage drivers to seek alternate routes and follow the designated detour signs.

Traffic travelling from North Street will be detoured to Allen Street or to Renne Avenue. For travel from First Street, Fenn Street will be reduced to one lane for travel using the westbound lane.

At times, this single lane will be temporarily closed due to large construction equipment in use. On-street parking, on Fenn Street, located next to City Hall, is prohibited during this work between the hours of 6 a.m.-6 p.m.

Pearl Street will only be accessible via Eagle Street.
