A city wide preliminary election will be held in Pittsfield on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 for the office of Mayor, City Clerk, At-Large Councilors, Wards 1-7 Councilors and School Committee.

VOTER REGISTRATION DEADLINE:   Wednesday, October 16, 2019 is the deadline to register to vote or to make changes to voter registration.  To be eligible to vote in the November 5, 2019 Municipal Election, residents of the City of Pittsfield must be properly registered by the deadline.

ABSENTEE BALLOTS and APPLICATION DEADLINES: Absentee ballots are currently available.  A person is eligible to vote by absentee ballot if they are a registered voter and will be unable to vote at the polls on Election Day for any one of the following three reasons:  (1) absence from the city during normal polling hours, (2) physical disability preventing you from going to the polls, (3) religious beliefs.  Voters must first complete an absentee ballot application.  The deadline to apply for an absentee ballot is 12:00 p.m. on Monday, November 4, 2019.  Voters may vote by mail or in person.

Voter Registration and Absentee Ballot Application forms are available from the Registrar of Voters’ Office in City Hall from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.  Office hours will be extended to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 16, 2019.  If you have any questions, please call the Registrar of Voters’ Office at 499-9460.
