The City of Pittsfield has plenty of FREE outdoor options for keeping the kids active and entertained this summer, including the drop in recreation program and outdoor movies at Clapp Park, and you can now add Youth Track and Field Games to the list.

The Recreation Program is partnering with Berkshire Running Center, The Berkshire Family YMCA, Berkshire Lightning Running Club, and Healthy Pittsfield to put on the Pittsfield Youth Track and Field Games.

Taking place next Saturday, July 21 at the Taconic High School Track, Pittsfield youth, ages six to 14, are invited to participate in a variety of track and field events.  The goal of the program is to introduce and teach youth the basics of track and field including the components, rules, and etiquette.

The program is free to children who live in Pittsfield.  Registration and warm-ups begin at 9 a.m., with activities beginning at 9:30.
