Hate him or love him Kanye West make headlines. Today those headlines are right here in Berkshire County.

The rap superstar and art enthusiast visited MASS MoCA this morning, with a group of friends including fellow rapper Tyler the Creator. Live 95.9 confirmed the news with Mass MOCA late this morning shortly after the group had left.

Apparently Kanye has been a long time fan of artist James Turrell, who's Into The Light  installation is currently showing at the museum of contemporary art. Turrell has been encouraging Kanye to come out and see the space and the timing finally worked out for the two to take a private tour before the museum opened to the public. In addition to the Into The Light exhibit, the rapper and his entourage toured the rest of the over 19 galleries.  Unfortunately, it was a short trip for the group as they left the region right after the tour.

According to sources, an upcoming exhibit is titled with West's song lyrics that is scheduled to open in the spring. West, reportedly, was invited to return to the area once the upcoming exhibit opens.

Turrell had previously made a name for himself in the Hip Hop community as his light work was the inspiration for Drake's Hotling Bling music video.
