Mill Town Capital To Bring 36 Market Rate Housing Units To Tyler St.
Mayor Linda M. Tyer, as part of her monthly appearance on 'Slater and Marjo In The Morning', mentioned that the ongoing contruction of housing units and building renovation on Tyler St. was that of Mill Town Capital's investment in the city.
Slater, who loves to drive around Pittsfield looking for things to talk about, (usually the removal of blighted structures), asked Tyer to clarify what was happening on Tyler St. across from Berkshire Wine and Liquor. The following was Tyer's response.
That is a new development under construction by Mill Town Capital, and it will be 36 brand new market-rate rental housing units. This is another element of our overall housing strategy which is to bring more market-rate rental housing units into the housing landscape. This is in response to what we were hearing from you know, our business partners, that were challenged by hiring...General Dynamics, Berkshire Health Systems and some other larger companies needing to be able to offer high-quality housing for their employees. So, that's what that is...new housing. -Mayor Linda Tyer
