Persip III, Moon Sworn in as Pittsfield City Councilors (Video)

It is a new year that includes a Pittsfield City Council, officially, with a pair of fresh faces.

On Tuesday morning, the City of Pittsfield saw Earl Persip III and Helen Moon sworn in as the newest members of the city council in a ceremony at Pittsfield City Hall. Persip III joins the council at-large, while Moon, who is the first asian-american to serve on the council, will take over in Ward 1. The election was held back in November.

The other pieces of business that were made official were the elections of the Pittsfield City Council President and Vice President. Councilor Peter Marchetti was re-elected as the President of the council, while Councilor John Krol will maintain his position as Vice President.
