Prom season will be here before you know it. As magical as prom night can be, it can also come with a cost, which can be difficult for some families who just don't have the money to purchase that extravagant gown, or that "in" tuxedo.

Luckily, Pittsfield High School will be holding their first ever "Prom Closet Event" on April 30. To make this inaugural event a success, PHS is looking for your help.

If you, or someone you know, has a used prom dress, tuxedo or shoes that are taking up space in the closet, you can donate them to Pittsfield High School for this event. The school will accept donations for all of those items, as well as jewelry, until Friday, April 27.

On April 30, students will be able to "shop" for a free prom dress, or tux, between 2:00 and 5:00 p.m. in Room 306 at PHS.

If you do not have those particular items and will still like to help out, monetary donations will also be accepted to help defray additional prom costs, such as flowers.

For more information on how to donate, call 413-499-9535.
