Questions Surround Shooting at Police Officer’s Home
There are still many unanswered questions and few details known about a woman found with a gun shot wound at a Pittsfield Police Officer's home yesterday.
According to The Berkshire Eagle, Pittsfield Police are investigating a shooting on Cromwell Avenue in Pittsfield where a woman was found wounded at the residence an off duty city police officer. The woman was is listed in stable condition, and both she and the officer remain unidentified.
According to a spokesman for the Berkshire District Attorney's office, the shooting appears to be an isolated incident, and there does not appear to be a threat to the public.
Around three o'clock in the afternoon yesterday, upon arriving home and discovering the wounded woman, the off duty officer called the Police, who responded to the scene as well as Chief Michael Wynn and District Attorney Paul Caccaviello. Neither commented on the nature of the shooting or how it was being categorized by investigators.
Land records show that the Cromwell property is owned by Miles. J Barber, who The Berkshire Eagle lists as a member of the Pittsfield Police Department.
