Sheriff’s Office Mourns Loss of Correctional Officer

The Berkshire County Sheriff's Office publicly announced the loss of 38-year-old Correctional Officer Richard Jaquaez who passed away on Tuesday.

Officer Jaquez served the Sheriff’s Office with distinction for 12 years. In addition to his Correctional Officer duties, he was a member of the Correctional Emergency Response Team and Honor Guard.

Jaquez was also a Combat Veteran having served tours in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Sheriff Thomas Bowler and the entire BCSO Staff express their deepest sympathies to the family of Officer Richard Jaquez.

The Pittsfield Police Department, as well as other law enforcement departments from around the county, shared in honoring the life of Officer Jaquez after his sudden passing.
