Silver Lake Man Identified

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the identity of the deceased man emergency personnel recovered from Silver Lake in Pittsfield.
Divers recovered the body of Stephen Dus, 55, of Pittsfield shortly before 9 p.m. on Monday after an extensive search and recovery operation.
At approximately 2:44 p.m. witnesses reported hearing someone call for help in the water.
Pittsfield Fire, Police, Action Ambulance, Berkshire County Sheriff’s Office Berkshire County Dive Team, Stockbridge Fire Department, Lanesborough Fire Department, Lanesborough Police Department, Hinsdale Fire Department, the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services, Massachusetts Environmental Police, and the Massachusetts State Police Dive Team responded and performed an extensive search.
Shortly before 9 p.m., emergency personnel located and recovered Dus’ body from the lake.
The Pittsfield Police Department’s investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death remains ongoing. Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact the Pittsfield Police at 448-9700.
