Taconic High School's boys basketball team has had an incredible playoff run that has lead them to the state championship game.

The Braves will face Tech Boston, out of Dorchester, for the Division II state championship on Saturday afternoon. The game will take place at the Mass Mutual Center in Springfield with a 1:15 tip-off.

The Pittsfield located high school earned a state championship bid after defeating Shepherd Hill 58-55 on Wednesday night thanks to a phenomenal team effort. Juniors Robert McCown (20 points) and Quincy Davis (16 points) lead that way as Taconic snapped a four-year streak of Western Mass. teams losing in the state semi-final matchup.

Tech Boston defeated North Andover 65-57 in their state semi-final matchup to earn their first state final berth since 1976. Tech Boston's Walter Dew-Hollis will be the player that the Braves will need to keep an eye on, as he dropped 26 points, including 20 in the second half, on Wednesday night.

It will be one heck of a state final game. Let's send our well-wishes to the Taconic High School basketball team, and let's bring that state championship home to the Berkshires.
