While the age old, Teo's versus Hot Dog Ranch battle wages on, the two top dogs, plus a legendary North County location, have made it to the Top Ten on Masslive's quest to crown the best hot dogs in the state.

Mass Live's 'Best of Mass' competition canvases a variety of categories and on May 15th, they kicked off Best of Mass: Hot Dogs, after compiling over 50 nominations. According to the website "they had everything from small food trucks in Chicopee to hot dog stands in Dennisport and everything in between". After the nominations were announced, the website opened up voting to the public for two weeks to narrow down the top ten.

The Berkshires' very own Teo's Hot Dogs and Hot Dog Ranch, both located in Pittsfield, and North Adams' Jack's Hot Dogs, have all made it to the top ten, with Teo's coming in at the number two spot. Just behind Cindy's Drive-In in Granby, the East Street hot doggery nabbed 14.63 percent of the votes. To keep things even, the competition will take the top five from the Western part of the state, and the top five from the Eastern side, and judges will visit each venue before they crown a winner.

While Teo's had the number two spot overall, as well as the number two spot for the West, Jack's Hot Dogs with 7.92% and Hot Dog Ranch with 6.94% overall came in fifth and sixth respectively, but forth and fifth for the West, making in it the finals by the skin of their teeth.

Good Luck to these local hot dog favorites!
