A statement has been released by the Pittsfield Police Department providing details in a Parker St. shooting, including the identity of the victim.

Last night at approximately 10:30 PM, Pittsfield Police, Pittsfield Fire, and County Ambulance responded to the area of Springside Ave. and Parker St. for the report of a gunshot victim inside of a vehicle.

Arriving first responders found 28 year-old David Moody Jr. in the driver’s seat of an SUV in front of a Parker St. residence. Mr. Moody had been shot multiple times. He was treated at the scene and transported to BMC. His injuries, though serious, are not considered life threatening.

Pittsfield Police Detectives and Crime Scene responded to process the scene and spoke with several individuals. Video evidence was recovered as well. The investigation is ongoing.

There is no indication that the safety of the general public is at risk.
