Everyone's favorite tradition to kick of the holiday season in Downtown Pittsfield is right around the corner. The lighting of the City of Pittsfield’s official Christmas Tree is set to take place Friday, December 6 at 6:00 p.m.

In addition to the lighting, the Taconic High School Chorus will perform a variety of carols before and after the ceremony and there will be an appearance from Santa and Mrs. Claus following the tree lighting. Complimentary hot chocolate will be available courtesy of Patrick's Pub.

Those planning to attend the ceremony are asked to bring non-perishable food items that will be donated to the Christian Center’s food pantry.
