Every Wednesday at 8:30 we're joined by John Perreault, Executive Director of the Berkshire Humane Society to discuss all the happenings at their Barker Road facility, plus talk about their Pet of the Week.

This week's Pet of the Week is Boo a 2.5-year-old terrier mix who was surrendered to Berkshire Humane back in April because she was too active for her owner. When she first got to the shelter, she’d often react to dogs and new people. Kennel staff and volunteers have been working with her to overcome her fear.  Boo still needs to continue her training, but she is sweet and playful once she gets to know someone. Her favorite games are fetch and tug of war. She likes to ride in the car and is extremely athletic and energetic. The best home for her would be with an experienced dog owner who would continue working with her and give her outlets for her energy. A home with a fenced-in yard in a quiet setting would be ideal – no apartments. Because Boo has a high prey drive, she is not suitable for a home with small animals, but another medium to large size dog who is accepting of Boo’s playfulness may be OK.

To learn more about Boo and all the other pets looking for their forever home, contact the Berkshire Humane Society at 214 Barker Road in Pittsfield, or give the shelter a call at (413) 447-7878.

Due to the rise in COVID-19 numbers locally, the Berkshire Humane Society is open and all services are available by appointment only.
