Every Wednesday at 8:30 Slater and I are joined by John Perreault, Executive Director of the Berkshire Humane Society to discuss all the happenings at their Barker Road facility, plus talk about their Pet of the Week.

Finley is a one-year-old male who is a Miniature Pug/Dachshund Smooth Haired mix. This cute young boy has a lot of energy and loves to chase after balls, but doesn't love to retrieve them. Finely can be quite the cuddler once he gets to know you and loves to curl up in the lap of people he likes. However, because Finely also likes to jump up, a family with children 8 and older would be best.

Finely was surrendered to the shelter because he did not get along with an older dog in his previous home. Berkshire Humane Society has not yet tested him with other dogs or cats however it assumed at this point that he'd do best at the only pet in a home. Finely will make a great companion for someone who will take the time to train and spend time with him.

In addition to telling us about Finley, John reminded listeners that the shelter is still operational but has made adjustments to keep the public and staff safe and healthy. The shelter is not currently open to the public, but animals can still be viewed in private showings by contacting Berkshire Humane Society directly. Despite COVID-19 fears, they have continued to successfully place animals this week, in addition, to keep lost or stray animals safe.

To learn more about Finley and all the other pets looking for their forever home, contact at the Berkshire Humane Society at 214 Barker Road in Pittsfield, or give the shelter a call at (413) 447-7878.
