Every Wednesday at 8:30 Slater and I are joined by John Perreault, Executive Director of the Berkshire Humane Society to discuss all the happenings at their Barker Road facility, plus talk about their Pet of the Week.

This week's Pet of the Week is Harley, a 7-year-old spayed female mixed breed. Harley is a large, fawn-colored dog who was surrendered because she did not like a new baby that was brought into the home. She’s a bit shy at first but warms up when she gets to know you. Harley should be the only pet in the household. The shelter staff is optimistic about finding a good home for this sweet girl!

In addition to telling us about Harley, John reminded listeners that the shelter is still operational but has made adjustments to keep the public and staff safe and healthy. The shelter is not currently open to the public, although the staff hopes it will be soon. Animals can still be viewed in private showings by contacting Berkshire Humane Society directly. Despite COVID-19, they have continued to successfully place animals this week, in addition, to keep lost or stray animals safe.

To learn more about Harley and all the other pets looking for their forever home, contact at the Berkshire Humane Society at 214 Barker Road in Pittsfield, or give the shelter a call at (413) 447-7878.
