Every Wednesday at 8:30 Slater and I are joined by John Perreault, Executive Director of the Berkshire Humane Society to discuss all the happenings at their Barker Road facility, plus talk about their Pet of the Week.

Meet Wade and Luna, two sweet cuddly beagle seniors!

They are a bonded pair and we’d like to adopt them out together. Wade (foreground) is a 10-year-old neutered male and Luna is an 8-year-old spayed female. These two were surrendered because their owner was moving. They are as happy as can be and like to go out on walks and sniff around.  With our buddy program, the adoption fee for the second dog is half price. We hope someone will take these friendly hounds home! -BHS

In addition to telling us about Wade and Luna, John reminded listeners that the shelter is still operational but has made adjustments to keep the public and staff safe and healthy. The shelter is not currently open to the public, but animals can still be viewed in private showings by contacting Berkshire Humane Society directly. Despite COVID-19 fears, they have continued to successfully place animals this week, in addition, to keep lost or stray animals safe.

To learn more about Wade and Luna and all the other pets looking for their forever home, contact at the Berkshire Humane Society at 214 Barker Road in Pittsfield, or give the shelter a call at (413) 447-7878.
