School Supply Drive in Southern Berkshire County is Up and Running

Summer is moving along, and back-to-school will be here before you know it. While many families and students in Berkshire County will be doing back-to-school shopping soon, some families may not have enough money to purchase all of the supplies needed for the new school year.

To help alleviate those families that may be struggling, local organizations will host back-to-school supply drives. These supply drives also take the burden off teachers who otherwise may have to purchase supplies for the classrooms out of their own pocket.

Southern Berkshire Kiwanis is one of the local organizations hosting an annual supplies drive for the new year. The supply drive will help restock the classrooms at Muddy Brook, Undermountain, and New Marlborough elementary schools. If you can donate, it would be much appreciated. Needed items include pens, pencils, markers, crayons, rulers, notebooks, backpacks, etc.

Where Do I Drop off School Supplies? Is There a Deadline? 

Drop-off locations include Berkshire South Regional Community Center in Great Barrington as well as NBT Bank branches in Great Barrington and Sheffield, Great Barrington Agway, and West Stockbridge Town Hall. You are asked to drop off these items by August 18 so Kiwanis can deliver to the schools before the start of the new school year.
