The weekend is here, Berkshire County, and so is that twice-a-year tradition that either ruins your Sunday morning or feels like a gift in November. Daylight Saving Time begins this Sunday, March 8th, which means clocks "spring forward" one hour at 2:00 a.m. So before you head to bed Saturday night, set your clocks ahead and mentally prepare to lose an hour of sleep.

The good news? More daylight in the evenings is right around the corner. By the time we get to late March, sunset will be pushing past 7:00 p.m. here in the Berkshires. For anyone who's been dragging through these dark winter afternoons, that's something to look forward to.

Unless you have kids and they won't go to bed - then it's a drag!

Weekend Weather for The Berkshires

As for the weekend weather, it's not a bad one to be stuck resetting clocks indoors. Saturday stays mild with a high near 47 degrees and just a slight chance of rain. Sunday looks similar, another high around 49, with a 25% chance of some light rain as you're adjusting to that lost hour. Not exactly spring, but it doesn't feel like deep winter either.

The real warmup comes early next week. Monday climbs to nearly 59, and by Tuesday we're looking at a high of 65 degrees. That's the kind of weather that makes losing an hour a lot easier to swallow.

So set those clocks, grab an extra cup of coffee Sunday morning, and know that brighter evenings and warmer days are on the way. Spring isn't officially here yet, but it's knocking on the door!
